In order to be successful, happy or live a purposeful life it is very essential to be aware of the environment around us as this influences how far we go and how easily we achieve what we want.

It is in this regard that we need to ensure we create a positive environment within and around us.

Here are a few ways to create that environment:

1. Clearly define what you want

The reason why we mostly fail is because we don’t have a clear vision of what we want and/or we don’t have a burning desire to succeed. So to avoid this, ask yourself why you really want to be successful, happy or why you need to pursue your purpose. Once you have the answer, write it down and put it somewhere that you can see it everyday. This will keep you focused and grounded and will keep you moving when you feel down or like giving up


2. Change your thinking

We are mostly conditioned to think negatively. We mostly look at the impossibilities and how hard it is to do a certain thing. We need to rise above this and start thinking a different way. Clearly this negative thinking hasn’t helped in being happier or more successful; so there’s no harm in trying a different kind of thinking. “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results”
Don’t be held back by Stereotypes, Prejudices, Dogma or the Status Quo.Instead begin see the possibilities. Think Yes, Think Big, Think Smart. Expand your mind.

3. Read, watch and listen to motivational things

In the world we live in there is so much information that is available to us so there is no excuse as to why you cant access it. Watch a Ted Talk; Search for inspirational stuff on YouTube, Check out Websites such as Lifehack; Google for Books by Writers on Motivation, Happiness and Success; Listen to Podcasts.
There is a lot of positive information out there that will change your perception and allow you to see all the possibilities that are around us

 

4. Who are your friends

It is so important to have the right people around you.
If you hang around people who are always negative, you will end up being negative yourself; If you hang around people who are defeated, you will be the next defeated person. On  the other hand, if you hang around happy, successful, driven people you will be next in line.

5. Believe in Yourself

You may have a lot going good for you but if you don’t believe in yourself, you will not be able to achieve your full potential. So believe in yourself. If you have a business selling a certain product and you don’t believe in that product, how will other people believe in it or buy it? If you don’t believe in your brand, who will?

You need to shut down those voices from within and even from other people that say you cant and you are not worth it.
Be confident and believe in your worth, believe you can do it, believe you can make it; because you can.

And even when you don’t; Fake it till you become it
Behave/Act like it and your feelings will catch up with u

 

6. Be Healthy

Being unwell or unhealthy definitely limits how much you are able to achieve. When you are unhealthy you become lazy and your motivation decreases. Adopt healthy habits. Eat healthy, drink enough water, eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, exercise, take a walk instead of driving, take the stairs instead of the lift, do yoga or pilates, go for a swim, go cycling, take a dance class. Do this simple things and you will begin to see yourself change.
