In the last post INSPIRATION FROM THE SUCCESSFUL ON OVERCOMING HARD TIMES  we discussed some of the challenges that you may be facing and got  some inspiration from Successful People who went through Difficult times and overcome them.

Today we shall look at how to overcome those difficult situations- what to do when things seem to be going wrong…
The challenges or difficulties we face are caused by:

Internal Factors-Personal matters

External Factors -Things in our surrounding environment

Here are 3 ways to help you during that difficult time:

 1. Take a Look at the Self

This is the first step and probably a difficult one because as humans our first instinct is to blame others for why things are not OK; but sometimes we are to blame. We consciously or unconsciously sabotage our success as a result of some thoughts, attitudes and emotions that we hold.
This can be linked to the upbringing, experiences and environment we have experienced. All these can make you think that you are not good enough, not qualified, you may be having a poverty mentality or you may have experienced a lot of hurt & hardships to a point that you unconsciously accepted that that is the way things should be and you don’t deserve better. You may be holding on to anger, bitterness, distrust, experiencing a lack of confidence and other negative emotions.

So long as you hold onto these things you will keep finding yourself in the same place as the issues will always find a way to manifest in your life.

So take a good look at yourself, are there any issues that are holding you back from being where you want to be or are causing you to be stuck in life and keep going through the same cycle over and over again?

Talk to someone or find a healthy way to eliminate the issues

If you really want to get ahead in life, you will be able to face these issues, root them out and have a new beginning.

Once you have made a detox of the self you can move to the factors take the next step

 

2. Learn

Every difficult situation we go through in life has a lesson to learn. You can take it or leave it but the best thing is to allow yourself to learn so you can grow  and even discover new opportunities.

Maybe the you are being taught on patience, persistence, forgiveness, giving, love, gratitude, happiness, contentment, peace….

You have a chance to know how it feels to be in a particular situation and once you overcome you can help other people overcome as well. There are many people who have found their purpose because of the difficult situations they have gone through. You can even make a living out of it. Look at most motivational speakers and authors, they went through certain periods of darkness and used that to inspire others.
Also most inventions come as a result of a problem that needs to be solved.

There is always something to learn.

3. Prepare

The next thing to do is to prepare for the life you want- that dream or goal that you want to achieve.
Prepare mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually
For example if you are jobless, you have a lot of time to do things which you woulds otherwise be unable to do. So take advantage of this time.

Invest in yourself:
Learn on personal development
Take the time to read and research on what you want to achieve.
Volunteer
Go to that place you have been wanting to go
Learn a new language
Eat healthy and exercise
Meditate

If you want to start a business learn about management, leadership, how to run a successful organization and acquire the skills pertaining to that business
If you aspire to be promoted at work or hold a high position learn about leadership and how to deal with people.
If you want to be a musician train your vocals, learn an instrument, practice your stage presence.

Challenge yourself and make sure you are growing

With these few steps you will be able to reach even greater heights than you imagined.
